As mentioned in a Links mini-review, this high-quality magazine appears to have died — but its ghost remains (the publication’s website is gone but the Facebook page is still online).
The auto history media has devoted very little attention to Automotive Quarterly’s situation — which seems decidedly odd. Fortunately, auto media observer Erik Killorin (2013) offered useful background. The comment thread has more recent information.
UPDATE:
The Society of Automotive Historians (2018) offers information about how to buy back issues of Automotive Quarterly from a vendor who obtained the magazine’s inventory after it ceased publication.
