“I already had an idea of what I wanted to convey. A lot of inspirations were locomotives, really high-end and futuristic military equipment, NASA, and really high-tech objects. . . .
The front end was always the focal point. The rest of the truck is supporting what the rest of the truck is communicating… we spent a lot of time making sure that when you stand in front of this thing it looks like it’s going to come get you. It’s got that pissed-off feel, but not in a boyish way, still looking mature. It just had to have that imposing look.”

I know one cannot argue taste, but I absolutely hate the appearance of most full-size pick-up truck front ends. I pisses me off. They might as well be a brick wall. That must be what today’s truck stylists start with in their concept sketching.
I believe we’re at the “1958 Buick/Oldsmobile” phase when it comes to the front clip styling of full-size pickups. GM is the worst offender, although the new Toyota Tundra seems determined to give GM a run for the money. The only one I really like is the Ford F-150.
