Summer of 1967 my good friend’s older brother just got back from serving in Vietnam. He purchased a brand new 1967 GTX with the 440 Commando and gave us a ride to the beach, my friend egged on his brother to do a burnout. First time I ever rode in muscle car and the smoke and screaming tires left a lifetime impression on me! I hunted all those years afterwards for a 1967 GTX and now own something very close — a 1967 Satellite with the 440. Life is good!

I also had a love affair with the ‘67 GTX as a young man. My dad’s boss back in the early 80’s was going to sell me their original owner ‘67 Belvedere II 2-door hardtop, when his son found out it was being sold the deal was killed. Oh well, cant when them all.
I meant to say “can’t win them all”
