The stories on Indie Auto’s front page often do not get the most number of viewers. Instead, someone posts an old story on their Facebook page and suddenly we get a burst of new readers from a distant part of the galaxy.
When that happens we also tend to get an uptick in spam as well as angry comments from fanboys. However, what I have found most perplexing is when we get random questions on topics that are far afield from anything Indie Auto has ever covered.
As a case in point, SS stopped by this morning with the following query:
“Been running my John Deere 1025R for a while and wondering what y’all do to keep yours running smooth. Saw on [spam link deleted] they recommend a certain oil, but some folks round here say otherwise. Whats your go-to for maintenance before the busy season? Figure its better to ask the folks whove been at it longer.”
I didn’t approve this comment because it was way off topic. Since then Indie Auto has received four more comments by SS — and each one more directly promotes a certain tractor website. I don’t know why he bothers, but if SS has time to keep on sending spam, I have time to delete it.
