Indie Auto reader MB sent in a letter to the editor in response to our story, “Jaguar Type 00’s design masterfully cures Great Britain’s industrial disease.”
Yes, I agree that the new jaGuar design is based on a modern take on industrial recycling bins. These are everyday items that we should take better notice of; sort of the Campbell’s soup can paintings by artist Andy Warhol. So, these vehicle designs can be truly recognized as a work of art, similar to the XK-E. The design does remind me of cars appearing in the Dick Tracy comic books in the 1950’s and ’60’s. Seeing that the hit Hollywood movies these days are based on 1950’s comic book characters, maybe jaGuar is on to something that appeals to a younger generation of car buyers. This seems like a terrific, ingenious, turnaround plan for jaGuar.
